Charlotte Pipe and Foundry is looking for a Satellite Plant Manager for our Cameron, Texas extrusion facility.  Charlotte Pipe and Foundry is a leading manufacturer of pipe and fittings. We are the only manufacturer that offers a complete system of cast iron, PVC, CPVC, ABS, and FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings for residential, commercial plumbing systems and industrial applications.  We make continual investments in the latest tooling and machinery to make it possible for us to meet increasing demand for our products and to provide the highest quality pipe and fittings in the industry. Summary:

The Satellite Plant Manager is responsible for the management and performance of our Cameron, Texas facility. This extrusion operation produces PVC pipe in a variety of sizes and configurations. The Manager is responsible for all aspects of this 24/7 high production volume environment including: safety, quality, cost control, associate hiring, associate retention and training, leadership of the salary team and ultimately the entire team, conformance to production schedule, technical solutions, and shipping operations.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Strategic mind set with proven leadership abilities.
  • B.S. or B.A. Degree or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • Manager level leadership experience.
  • 5+ years manufacturing experience (Prefer experience with PVC extrusion or other pipe extrusion).
  • Strong commitment to all aspects of safety.
  • Ability to create, implement and follow through with short term and long term objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience leading a fast-paced environment managing multiple shifts and manufacturing personnel.
  • Strong history of meeting production goals.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; Must possess troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to wear many hats in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching supervisors and associates.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to professionally communicate with all levels of an organization, including verbal, email, and phone.
  • Professional demeanor with history of treating staff with respect

Responsibilities and Duties: Other duties may be assigned

  • Leading a 24/7 operation requires a commitment to be accessible at all times.
  • Coordinate daily activities in the facility.
  • Associate utilization strategy.
    • Make proper staffing decisions
  • Work with peers and direct reports in the following areas:
    • Safety – Always providing a safe work environment
    • Production – Knowledge and operation of all plant equipment
    • Scheduling – Work with our scheduling group to produce the correct material at the appropriate time
    • Shipping
    • Mixing
    • Office admin.
    • Quality control – manage all third part inspections and maintain co. quality standards
    • Maintenance – manage the maintenance associates
    • Maintenance - ensure equipment is properly maintained
    • Human Resources – payroll, insurance, fair enforcement of rules, etc.
    • Procurement, - Maintaining spare parts, proper raw material inventory
  • Key Measures for this role are:

    • Turnover rate.
