Benefits Specialist and Leave of Absence Administrator

 

Overview:

The Leave of Absence Administrator will oversee all aspects of associate leave programs at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry company. This role will be responsible for administering various types of leave, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, personal leaves, other medical leaves, and any state-specific leave programs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Leave Management:

  • Administer and coordinate all associate leave requests, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Review and evaluate all leave applications submitted through our digital platform and assist associates when needed with applications, while maintaining accurate records.

 

Policy Implementation:

  • Develop, implement, and update leave policies and procedures to align with legal requirements and organizational goals.
  • Provide guidance to associates and management regarding leave entitlements and responsibilities.

 

Associate Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for associates seeking leave, answering questions and providing support throughout the process.
  • Communicate regularly with associates regarding the status of their leave and any required documentation.

 

Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of leave requests, approvals, and any related documentation.
  • Prepare and present reports on leave usage and trends to management as required.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with HR, payroll, and management teams to ensure seamless leave administration and compliance.
    • Collaborate with external vendors, such as disability insurance providers, when applicable.

 

Training and Support:

  • Provide training and resources to managers and HR personnel on leave policies and best practices.
  • Stay updated on changes in employment laws related to leave of absence and ensure that policies are adapted accordingly.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and leave management systems.
  • High level of confidentiality and attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR or leave administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other leave-related regulations.
