Customer Master Data Analyst
Job Summary
The Customer Master Data Analyst is the primary owner of customer master records in SAP, responsible for ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and governance. This role develops and maintains reporting structures and reference tables that support Sales Incentive programs and broader sales reporting needs.
Working closely with sales leadership, sales representatives, and external customers, the Customer Master Data Analyst supports critical business processes by managing master data with a clear understanding of how it is used across the organization. The position requires strong collaboration and communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into effective data and reporting solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Own the accuracy, integrity, and governance of customer master data in SAP, including customer hierarchies, vendor relationships, and reference tables that support reporting and account structure.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned external organizations and buying groups, monitoring customer account structures and partnering with Credit and A/R as needed.
- Ensure alignment and data consistency between SAP and Salesforce customer/account records.
- Establish, document, and maintain business rules for customer records related to acquisitions, mergers, bankruptcies, and other structural changes.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver standardized territory-level, monthly, and quarterly customer and sales reporting, including support for sales incentives.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales Support, Credit/A/R, IT, and other stakeholders to resolve master data issues, document process changes, and continuously improve data governance, reporting, and departmental continuity through cross‑training.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to quickly learn Charlotte Pipe’s customer base, product groups, and internal processes, and understand how changes impact cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn and effectively use SAP R/3 and BW.
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage interruptions, shift priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative team‑oriented approach and a strong sense of urgency when business priorities change.
