Pricing and Incentive Analyst
Position Summary
The Pricing and Incentive Analyst is responsible for supporting the administration, analysis, and integrity of pricing, incentive, sales, and customer data. This position plays a critical role in maintaining pricing accuracy, evaluating incentive programs, producing actionable business insights, and supporting strategic decision-making.
The analyst maintains and analyzes pricing, customer sales, point-of-sale, and incentive-related information within SAP and other business systems. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify discrepancies, recommend solutions, and communicate findings effectively to cross-functional business partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Pricing Administration
- Maintain accurate pricing records in SAP and other internal systems, including customer-specific pricing, territory pricing, promotional pricing, and related updates.
- Review and process pricing requests while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and approval requirements.
- Monitor pricing accuracy and identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, or exceptions requiring investigation and resolution.
- Assist in testing and validating pricing updates, system enhancements, and process improvements.
Incentive and Sales Analysis
- Support the administration and analysis of sales incentive, rebate, and promotional programs.
- Analyze customer sales, point-of-sale, pricing, and incentive data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential issues.
- Evaluate business scenarios and provide recommendations based on data analysis and established guidelines.
- Investigate discrepancies related to pricing, incentives, rebates, and sales transactions and recommend corrective actions.
Reporting and Business Intelligence
- Develop, maintain, and enhance spreadsheets, databases, dashboards, and analytical reports.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports that support management decision-making.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data used in reporting and analysis.
- Utilize business intelligence and reporting tools to identify insights and communicate performance trends.
Collaboration and Communication
- Partner with Sales, Finance, Marketing, Customer Service, and other functional teams to support pricing and incentive initiatives.
- Communicate pricing updates, analytical findings, recommendations, and business impacts to stakeholders and leadership.
- Provide data-driven insights to support business planning and operational decision-making.
- Escalate pricing, incentive, or data integrity concerns requiring management review and approval.
Continuous Improvement and Compliance
- Support process improvement initiatives designed to enhance reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and data integrity.
- Document processes, procedures, and business rules as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary, customer, and financial information.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, formulas, pivot tables, and reporting functions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate recommendations effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in pricing analysis, sales operations, rebate administration, financial analysis, business analytics, or a related field.
- Experience working with SAP, SAP Business Warehouse (BW), Salesforce, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, or similar reporting and business intelligence platforms.
- Experience supporting pricing strategies, incentive programs, or sales performance analytics.
- Knowledge of data governance, reporting best practices, and process improvement methodologies.
