Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, located in Huntsville, AL, is looking for a Pipeline Utility Operator. Charlotte Pipe and Foundry is a leading manufacturer of pipe and fittings. We are the only manufacturer that offers a complete system of cast iron, PVC, CPVC, ABS and FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings for residential and commercial plumbing systems and industrial applications. Charlotte Pipe and Foundry is seeking a full-time Pipeline Utility Operator. This position is responsible for monitoring the extruder and down-stream equipment to package pipe by set standards, assist Pipeline Operators during changeovers, weigh pipe, check quality of the pipe, and operate strapper tool to secure pipe on wood boards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Remove pipe from extruders.

Inspect and identify poor quality pipe using micrometer, pie tape, etc.

Package pipe per standards with strapping tool, weigh pipe and move to designated storage area with forklift.

Keep work area up to 5S housekeeping standards including operating sweepers as necessary.

Complete production quality records as required.

Assist extruder operator in stringing up lines as required.

Assist operator or maintenance in repair of equipment and tool and die change.

Maintain constant state of alertness and ability to safely perform job duties.

Constantly communicate with extruder operator

Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Ability to work 12 hour shifts (including weekends and holidays)

Submit to and successfully complete background check and pre-employment drug test

Computer and mechanical ability preferred

Excellent safety and attendance record

Ability to provide personal hand tools
