Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, located in Monroe, NC, is looking for a Design Engineer with a proven track record to join our team. Charlotte Pipe and Foundry is a leading manufacturer of pipe and fittings. We are the only manufacturer that offers a complete system of cast iron, PVC, CPVC, ABS and FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings for residential and commercial plumbing systems and industrial applications. Investment in the latest tooling and machinery make it possible for us to meet increasing demand for our products and to provide the highest quality pipe and fittings in the industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Design, or related Engineering Fields.
- Capable of using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Access, and Word).
- Possess a clear understanding of injection molds and how they operate.
- Possess knowledge of metals used in injection molds and which metals work best in different applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot injection molds.
- Ability to effectively work on several projects at one time by prioritizing and multitasking.
- Ability to take the lead on a project or tasks and follow through until completion.
- Ability to use AutoCAD and SolidWorks, or similar programs to create and modify prints for molds and other tooling used throughout the plant.
- Ability to work well in both a team and individual environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Tool Room Associates with obtaining and intrepreting 2D mold prints and 3D files.
- Revise 2D mold prints and 3D files.
- Design mold modifications and improvements to run efficieny and cycle times.
- Work with Mold Approval Team to develop mold requests for capital projects.
- Order new or replcaement tooling from mold vendors.
- Work directly with mold venodrs to compile necessary quotes for various projects.
- Create accurate 2D and 3D part files based upon Charlotte Pipe Part Design Specifications.
- Review and update Charlotte Pipe Mold Build Guidelines as needed an update mold vendors of any changes.
- Assist Marketing Department with any changes or additions to Charlotte Pipe catalogs.
- Verify part-dimensional or making information for Technical Services.
