Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, located in Monroe, NC, is looking for a Processor Trainee. We are the only manufacturer that offers a complete system of cast iron, PVC, CPVC, ABS and FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings for residential and commercial plumbing systems and industrial applications. Summary: Each Processor is responsible for the operation of a set of molding machines assigned to him/her. This includes shut down, purging, start up, restart, part inspection, etc. Each Processor will trouble shoot the molding machines for necessary adjustments (heat, injection, pressure, time etc.) Each Processor is responsible for Safety 5S housekeeping of his/her machines and work area.

 

General Job Description: The requirements that an individual must absolutely possess to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Review production schedule for each machine
  • Prepare machine(s) for mold changes as needed (purge machine and update production records)
  • Restart machine(s) for all types of material after mold changes are made (proper settings and product inspection)
  • Review output of molding machines to ensure that efficiency and quality standards are met
  • Communicate with technician for feedback on machine performance
  • Forklift operation
  • Take corrective action in response to machine malfunctions.
  • P.M. all molds once each shift. Check for any damage. Plug gauge all parts continuously to assure quality
  • Fill out all production reports as required
  • Set up sprue picker for proper operation, if applicable
  • Set up mold water heating unit, if applicable
  • Responsible for housekeeping on machines and keeping work area up to 5S housekeeping standards
  • Maintain constant state of alertness and ability to safely perform job duties
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

 

Experience or Training Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of Mechanical Reasoning Assessment
