Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, located in Wildwood, FL, is looking for an experienced switch truck driver.   Charlotte Pipe and Foundry is a leading manufacturer of pipe and fittings. We are the only manufacturer that offers a complete system of cast iron, PVC, CPVC, ABS and FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings for residential and commercial plumbing systems and industrial applications.  Investment in the latest tooling and machinery make it possible for us to meet increasing demand for our products and to provide the highest quality pipe and fittings in the industry. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Move trailers around the yard using a tractor-trailer and, as needed, work in the warehouse and pipe yard to fill customer orders by operating a forklift to select, count, assemble and load materials, complete all required paperwork, 

operate computers, hand tools and maintain equipment. 

 

Essential Functions:

1- Maneuver a switch truck and other equipment safely. This includes but not limited to safely entering and exiting the equipment and maneuvering equipment at various speeds and within various conditions

(tight areas with limited maneuvering, inclement weather, backing up, etc). 

 

2- Ensuring timely movement of trailers in and out of the docks and pipe yard.

 

3- Hooking/unhooking trailers and lifting/opening trailer doors. 

 

4- Complete maintenance vehicle inspection (oil, fluids, belts, tires, etc.) and pre- and post-shift equipment safety inspections.

 

5- Work under CP&F safety guidelines & handbook policies

 

6- Operate forklift or stock picker.

 

7- Check and re-check orders selected to ensure accuracy.

 

8- Knowledge of how to safely and legally load and transport pipe

 

9- Fill orders per production PFP standards.

 

10- Transport finished goods between production to storage location and then to trailer(s)

 

11- Review and record incoming materials as required (checking material vs. packing list, etc.)

 

12- Load and unload trucks.

 

13- Band and board up skids of pipe.

 

14- Understand/trouble shoot equipment including computer, printer, scanner, bander, stapler

 

15- Load/unload cantilever racking and / or trailer(s)

 

16- Weigh skids on scales in extrusion, obtain and communicate dimensions and weight

 

17- Communicate with sales, associates and carriers

 

18-Knowledge of skid quantities/ dimensions

 

19- Wrap and load skids.

 

20- Knowledge of Charlotte Pipe products.

 

21- Keep work area up to 5S Housekeeping & Safety Standards.

 

22- Maintain constate state of alertness and ability to safely perform job duties.

 

23- Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Compensation: 

Average compensation for the position is $24.28 - $34.48
